This page provides an opportunity for you to network with school social workers from around the state.
ISSWA maintains a separate protected web site at Nicenet.org that will enable school social workers across Iowa to share ideas and respond to questions. Nicenet is a free service for educators that can be used to facilitate on-going conversations among students and educators. We use the ISSWA discussion board to share ideas about practice, policy, and events that are of interest to school social workers. Sign up for Nicenet today!
Directions to enter a discussion on Nicenet

All you need to sign on to Nicenet is a class key, a user name and a password. This is your class key: SZ0867ZXZ9. Put your curser over the blue letters and press "Ctrl and C" to copy it. Or write the class key on a pad.

Now click on this: “http://nicenet.org” to open the sign in page.

In the right hand corner of the page it says: “New Users Start Here”.

Put your curser in the box and pres "Ctrl and V" and the computer will place the blue class key in the box. Or copy the class key into the box.

Follow the directions to set up a user name and password. Be sure to enter your e-mail address so that people can communicate with you.

Now you are ready to enter the Nicenet ISSWA class. On the left side of the first page click on “conferencing.”

You will see all of the topics that have already been started. You are invited to start a new topic, or to comment on one that is there.

One of the features offered by ISSWA on Nicenet is the opportunity to read messages and post messages to State Senator and ISSWA Legislative Liaison, Becky Schmitz.
