  • Maintaining high ethical and practice standards for school social work practice in Iowa

  • Providing professional development opportunities for school social workers

  • Promoting the profession of school social work to AEA and district administrators, Schools of Social Work at the Universities in Iowa and with the public.

ISSWA supports school social workers by:

  • Providing the School Social Work Journal

  • Communicating information about policy and practice through a quarterly newsletter and the ISSWA website

  • Recognizing excellence in professional school social work practice

  • Advocating for children, families and schools
